2019: Open the Debates on the map

2019 was a breakthrough year for Open the Debates, and we couldn’t do it without your support. Here’s to making 2020 the year we make the Commission on Presidential Debates obsolete!

In 2019, 80 pioneering supporters from across the country made a generous donation to power our work.  As we gear up to make 2020 a transformative year, we ask that you join the next wave to build Open the Debates into an unstoppable national force for fair and meaningful political debates, at every level of government.

Your early donation, of any size, will demonstrate to the nation that We the People are thirsting to have more representative voices and choices on the ballot and in the debates.

2019 was momentous.

We secured an organizational home for this work and became a fiscally sponsored 501c3 project of Mediators Foundation.

We were published multiple times in Independent Voter News’ groundbreaking platform for the political independence movement, ivn.us, with a reach of over a 500,000 supporters.

We did our first podcast, we published our first print op-ed in the Nashville daily paper, our first national op-ed in the democracy reform outlet The Fulcrum, and we did our first live interview. We participated in two powerful electoral reform summits. We even made it into an incredible new book coming out in February by former independent candidate for U.S. Senate in Maryland, Neal Simon.

To top it all off, Open the Debates was invited to co-host next fall’s inclusive general election debate by the Free and Equal Elections Foundation!

Open the Debates is now solidly on the radar screen of the growing political reform movement. Now’s our chance to get onto the radar screen of the 3/4 of US voters who already agree with us. Now’s our chance to deliver change for the 2/3 of Americans who want to see an easier path for 3rd party and independent candidates to run for office.

We cannot succeed without your support. Please make a donation, of any size, right now.

Let’s make 2020 the year we make the Commission on Presidential Debates obsolete!
